We’re in that early moment of spring where everything feels like it’s about to shift. The full flush of colour hasn’t arrived yet, but you can see it coming. The buckets look a little brighter, the growers are sending hints of what’s ahead, and the studio has that quiet sense of anticipation that only happens at this time of year.
What’s arriving this week
Tulips They’re still strong and stretching, with clean heads and long stems. They’re one of the first signs that the season is turning, and they bring that soft movement in the vase that makes them feel alive.
Ranunculus They’re starting to hit their stride. Not the full peak yet, but the good ones are very good—layered, glowing, and that perfect mix of delicate and sturdy. You can tell the best weeks are close.
Wax Flower Wax flower is in full swing now. Soft, textural, and beautifully scented, it’s one of those stems that quietly lifts an arrangement without demanding attention. The colours are clean and bright, and the season is generous.
Blossom Still sporadic, still fleeting, still irresistible. Blossom is always the tease of early spring—it shows up before anything else, drops petals everywhere, and somehow we forgive it every time.
Early arrivals Sweet peas are appearing in small batches. Iceland poppies are popping up too, delicate but joyful. Hellebore is starting to come through, soft and moody and beautiful in understated designs.
Peonies
Local peonies don’t usually appear until November. We wait for Victorian crops because they’re fuller, fresher, and they last. When they arrive, we’ll be loud about it.
